One of the Benefits of Membership

Professional Representation Advocating Your Interests in Jefferson City

One of the benefits of being a member of SLAHU, is that we have a lobbyist actively working for us in Jefferson City. Kyna Iman, is a well respected professional with many years of expertise in this field. She has done a terrific job of following legislation important to our industry and keeping us informed of any updates and new items, as well as strengthening our relationships with key legislators.

Kyna has sent us pertinent election results, which can be viewed here. At this time, no matter what your political beliefs, it is vitally important to make your voice heard. The future and well-being of our profession depends upon it. I strongly encourage you to take swift action to send a letter of congratulations to our newly elected state officials. I have included a Sample Letter for your review below.

Please take the time to advocate for our industry as well as letting our officials know of our “Day at the Capitol” Event, Wednesday, April 5, 2017. We will once again travel by train to Jeff City, lunch together to discuss strategy, meet with key legislators and then host a get-together at the rotunda.
Together, we will move forward!

SLAHU President

Message from Kyna Iman

THE ELECTIONS ARE OVER!!!!

Republican former Navy SEAL Eric Greitens defeated Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster in Missouri Governor’s race. Greitens, a Maryland Heights native and 1992 graduate of Parkway North High School, becomes Missouri’s first Jewish governor. He and his wife, Sheena Greitens, an assistant professor at the University of Missouri specializing in East Asian politics, have two young sons.

Republican candidates were elected to all the statewide offices and Roy Blunt will return to the U.S. Senate. Please find all election results on the attached.

I am headed to Jefferson City, today, to congratulate the newly elected Representatives and Senators. They meet to caucus and elect House and Senate Leadership positions.

Please take a moment to write your State Representative and State Senator a note of Congratulations. Stress the importance of working together in the upcoming legislative session, which starts January 4. Letters can be addressed to: State Capitol Building, Jefferson City, MO 65101

I look forward to working with you next session to further SLAHU’s legislative agenda. Let’s get started!!
